Eagles beat Stags 7-1 in the first Scottish senior game since lockdown.

In dominant fashion, the Eagles defeated the Glasgow Stags 7-1 in the first senior ice hockey game to take place in Scotland since the 2020 lockdown.

The short-benched Eagles-Steel Queens Selects team traveled to Ayr for the rainy Saturday matinee on August 21st.

The Steel Queen's Vicky Carson captained the squad, while the Eagles' Ryan McFarlane, Mark Taylor, and Jeremy Leung each recorded 2 goals.

The Steel Queen's coach Rambo scored a further goal and added 3 assists, and Eagles regular Zack Abrams recorded 2 assists.

Berke Ricketti backstopped the team with 18 saves on 19 shots with 1 GA and posting a 0.95 SV%, while recording 1 assist and logging 2 PIM.

Kirsty Suttie and Sophie Woolf each made their debut on the Eagles-Steel Queens Selects team.

The Stags were energetic in the opening minutes of the game with strong puck possession, a clear result of their organized practices earlier in the off-season.

But the Eagles were able to weather the storm and hard skating and good puck movement led to Ryan McFarlane opening the scoring at 9:37.

Ryan McFarlane was awarded Man of the Match.

Footage and pictures from the game can be found on the Stags' Facebook page.

We would like to thank the Stags for their hospitality and hosting the game. We look forward to meeting them on the ice again in the future.
