Brian Lee
One of my favourite memories of Brian was playing in the Scottish Plate with the Phoenix in 2008. We had a colour clash and for whatever reason Brian ended up wearing a spare goalie jersey. The puck got flicked up towards Brian’s mid drift, nobody apart from the Wizard knew where it was for just a split second, Brian pulled the front of his jersey using the moment’s distraction to get himself in a position to score on the breakaway.
Nicknamed by yours truly, the Wizard, Brian had so much going on with slick hands and a burst of speed to set him apart. Brian joined the club with Ryan McGinley and boy, did the two have chemistry. I will never forget Brian’s crazy on-ice skills that frustrated the teams playing against him and made the Eagles love him.
