Andy Blakeley
Andy came to us with bags of experience from English Juniors. He had an appetite for success (and sometimes a buffet) and his experience meant he was instant difference maker for both the Phoenix and Eagles.
Andy captained (seen top left in our 2011 Celtic Cup win) the club for several seasons and was instrumental in the Phoenix success in the Scottish Plate in 2009 and Cup in 2013. Perhaps even more impressively Andy held a record, which was subsequently broken, for the most points in one game for the Phoenix with 6 goals and 1 assist against the Milton Keynes Hurricanes on the 2010 Phoenix Tour. What made that really impressive is that Andy played on two banged up knees, which kept him in a wheelchair whilst being pushed by Pam at Thorpe Park the day before.
Andy continued to be an instrumental hockey player for his university team in Holland (pictured above).
